Common Name: Firethorn
Species: 'Orange Glow'
Skill Level: Beginner
Exposure: Full sun, Partial shade
Soil type: Well-drained/light
Spacing: 3 Plants Per Metre
Small creamy white flowers appear in early summer, followed by masses of bright orange-red berries. Grow in a sunny or partially shaded spot in wel-drained soil. Trim hedging from early to mid-summer. Wall-trained shrubs should be cut back after flowering in mid-summer. Shorten lateral shoots to two to three leaves from the base to expose the developing berries.
Small but healthy.
Although very well packed, these must have been thrown around when being dispatched as they were all falling out of their pots. I re-potted them as soon as they arrived and hope they survive. They do look healthy plants and the root system was very good so hopefully they will be ok. They were smaller than I thought they would be but hopefully they will soon grow.
