Product Description

20 Common Alder Hedging, Alnus Glutinosa 2-3ft

These are BARE ROOTED plants which can be planted from the end of October until April and will be dispatched as soon as the weather turns cold and they become dormant. The dispatch date depends on the Autumn temperature and varies from year to year.

A. glutinosa is a deciduous tree to 25m, broadly conical in habit when young, with grey-purple buds and young catkins conspicuous in winter, and rounded bright green leaves

Alnus are vigorous deciduous trees and large shrubs with rounded leaves and often conspicuous catkins in winter

The hedge can be trimmed into any shape or size and will tolerate most conditions including shade and exposed areas.

The plants have been grown in the nursery for 2 years(1+1) and will have an excellent root system ready for planting.Plant 30-60cm(1-2 ft) apart depending on how thick you want your hedge to be.

I had some of these 4 or 5 yrs ago, every one survived. The deer tasted them but didn't like them, some of them are 4 to 5" in girth, really good trees.
