Description:
Doyenne du Comice should be picked in October while still firm and stored until November before eating.With a little planning you can put fresh, ripe pears on the table on Christmas Day.The trees flourish well in well drained yet moist soil, and in full sunshine.Pears naturally shed a small quantity of the developing fruits in mid summer. After this has occurred thin out the remaining pears, leaving one pear per cluster. Add a high-nitrogen feed in spring.
