"Rockhampton Red" is a selected cultivar of the standard hornbeam with striking orange/red autumn colour. The tree is a good grower with a nice, even crown structure, with the same characteristics as the seedling. Carpinus betulus "Rockhampton Red" is ideal as an avenue tree, as a solitary specimen or as hedging.
Rockhampton Red Hornbeam Saplings.
The latest delivery was for a few saplings of the Rock Hampton Red Hornbeam which is the second such delivery The first arrived approximately one year ago and have favoured well on my ground which is boulder clay in a local frost pocket. The intention is to plant more to in order to increase the winter colour. Whilst these are grafted saplings. the intention is to plant more stock grown from seed.
