1 Holly 'Golden King' Plants / Ilex aquifolium 20-30cm in 1L pots
'Golden King' is a small bushy evergreen tree or shrub with broad ovate, slightly spiny leaves margined with bright yellow. Flowers small, dull white; berries brownish-red, not abundant.
Almost spineless, glossy, dark green leaves on dark purple stems. It makes a dense, upright tree that is quite slow-growing. Like all common holly varieties, it is a robust plant, ideal for hedges and screens, both inland and by the sea, but also makes a good specimen shrub. It produces small white flowers (male and female usually on separate plants) and, on female plants, showy berries in autumn
When the plants arrive they can be planted in a well dug over trench with rotted manure or any other organic fertiliser (The plants will grow without doing this,but it gives them a better start) .Don't steep in water for longer than 2 hours as this can destroy the roots.
