 10 Christmas Berry / Photinia fraseri 'Red Robin'

 

Photinia, or Christmas berry, is a genus of Asian and North American shrubs, which includes a group of evergreen hybrids grown specifically for their colourful young foliage.

 

Most are forms of the garden hybrid P. x fraseri, with glossy dark green adult foliage, and variable red tinted young leaves, especially as they just unfold. 'Red Robin' is one, a choice form with eye-catching juvenile growth the colour of sealing wax, similar to a pieris. This is sometimes caught by late spring frosts, and some shelter is advisable. Plants enjoy a sunny or partially shaded position in moist but well-drained soil.

    Really good size plants

    We bought the shrubs for two reasons. The size of each plant are much taller than other sellers, and the very reasonable price. Product arrived within a few days. However, there were only 9 plants in the box instead of the 10 that we expected and paid for.

    Plants arrived quickly and were well packaged. Plants are small (as described) but quite bushy and healthy. One arrived with some damage to the growing tip but the plant is otherwise healthy and should recover well.

    Pleased that all plants arrived quickly and in good condition. Plants well-packaged to protect them and seem to do be doing well so far. Was a bit worried that didn't hear if order was going through initially. Website did say that busy due to demand. Checked back a few times then updated that plants had been dispatched. First time that I have used this company, or even ordered plants online. Will use this company again.

    Arrived pretty quickly although I didn't get much updates on arrival time. Packaged pretty well and I have planted so will see how they grow, fingers crossed.

    Packaged well but even so one was broken and they looked like they were plug plants that has just been put in pots so the soil around them was really loose. They are however good small plants that I hope will do well in my garden
