 10 Christmas Berry / Photinia fraseri 'Red Robin'

 

Photinia, or Christmas berry, is a genus of Asian and North American shrubs, which includes a group of evergreen hybrids grown specifically for their colourful young foliage.

 

Most are forms of the garden hybrid P. x fraseri, with glossy dark green adult foliage, and variable red tinted young leaves, especially as they just unfold. 'Red Robin' is one, a choice form with eye-catching juvenile growth the colour of sealing wax, similar to a pieris. This is sometimes caught by late spring frosts, and some shelter is advisable. Plants enjoy a sunny or partially shaded position in moist but well-drained soil.

    Thank you for my purchase received ..All ten plants came healthy albeit one was broken however I managed to graft the broken bit of it . I will certainly purchase from yourselves again.

    Arrived promptly and well packaged, the compost in the pots was still moist and the plants were exactly as described, all in very good condition. Such great value that I now have a photinia hedge (ok, only of saplings at this stage), for just £23.99 (plus a bit of elbow grease, compost and water). I'm now planning my next purchase.

    From Northern Ireland to Surrey England in really quick time. Really pleased, all planted and look strong. Great price would really recommend. Make sure you're in when delivered I don't know how long they would last left in the box.
