100 Christmas Berry / Photinia fraseri 'Red Robin' 30-50cm Tall

 

Photinia, or Christmas berry, is a genus of Asian and North American shrubs, which includes a group of evergreen hybrids grown specifically for their colourful young foliage.

 

Most are forms of the garden hybrid P. x fraseri, with glossy dark green adult foliage, and variable red tinted young leaves, especially as they just unfold. 'Red Robin' is one, a choice form with eye-catching juvenile growth the colour of sealing wax, similar to a pieris. This is sometimes caught by late spring frosts, and some shelter is advisable. Plants enjoy a sunny or partially shaded position in moist but well-drained soil.

    Ordered these to create a 20m hedge, so planting every 20cm. They came well packaged, just be careful removing them. Got them planted up within 1 day, looks great. Came as described at 25-30cm with a few stragglers at 20cm. All 100 survived and should make a lovely hedge as they develop.

    I was expecting tiny tiny plans but some were well over 1ft and all were healthy - It may take some years to grow a large hedge but if you are patient this will save a lot of cost !

    Hi, I thought that I would drop you a line to say thank you for supplying me 100 Photinia Red Robin Hedging Plants 20-30cm Bushy Hedge Shrubs. They were very competitively priced and I was delighted that they were cell grown and not bear rooted. All plants survived shipping and to date (now 1 year since planting) all seem happy without a single lost plant.

    Highly recommend, plants arrived within 3 days of order, all boxed well with straw padding, I was a little concerned as we had bad weather meaning I didn't get chance to inspect the plants for a further 4 days however upon opening all the plants were in good condition, no breakages and didn't in any way look unhappy at being packaged in a box for 7 days. Will definitely be using 3fatpigs.co.uk
