Product Description

5 Green Privet / Ligustrum Ovalfolium 60-90cm (2-3ft) Tall

These are BARE ROOTED plants which can be planted from the end of October until April and will be dispatched as soon as the weather turns cold and they become dormant. The dispatch date depends on the Autumn temperature and varies from year to year.

Privet can be grown as a small formal hedge or a large hedge. It is evergreen/semi-evergreen (can lose its foliage when transplanted in Winter) and can provide excellent shelter and privacy.

The denseness provided by the small ovate leaves makes for a good hedge that some small birds use for a nesting site. It has a good growth rate of 40-60cm per year dependent on conditions reaching a maximum of 4m tall. To keep it neat we would recommend trimming it twice per year. It will tolerate most conditions including shade and exposed areas. When planted as bare root, we would advise to prune the plants hard to encourage bushy growth. Great for windproofing and privacy screening.

    Green Privot Pl;ants

Needed to improve the old existing 40mtr roadside hedgeline. Purchased an initial 50 plants in January. Impressed with delivery and quality, so just received my second order which will see approx 25 mtrs of the old hedge improved and ready for spring growth.

    Good product reasonably priced

Order arrived very quickly. Plants were very tightly wrapped and looked a bit sorry for themselves when first unpacked. However they soon picked up once soaked in water for a few hours. They have a good root system and I suspect they should establish well.
