Acer platanoides / Norway maple is a species of maple native to eastern and central Europe and western Asia. It is a deciduous broadleaf tree that can grow up to 20m tall. Its foliage of classically shaped maple leaves turns yellow for the autumn. There are small scented yellow flowers produced before the leaves appear in the spring.
It grows well on most soil types that are well-drained and needs plenty of space to reach the full height. It can grow well in exposed areas, tolerates air pollution and resists drought
