Akebia Quinata / Chocolate Vine in 2L Pot, Spicy Chocolate Fragrant Flowers
A pretty, fast growing semi evergreen climber, provides nectar and pollen for bees and other pollinating insects. It has purple/red flowers that have a spicy chocolate fragrance with just a hint of vanilla and dark rounded green leaves.
The flowers can give way, weather dependant, to a crop of unusual sausage shaped fruits up to 10cm in length. This is easily grown in most soils; for best fruit production, plant more than one vine to facilitate good cross-pollination. These are easily trainable for growing over a pergola or an arch or on a wall or a trellis; may also be used for ground cover.
