These are BARE ROOTED plants which can be planted from the end of October until April and will be dispatched as soon as the weather turns cold and they become dormant. The dispatch date depends on the Autumn temperature and varies from year to year.
A species of small trees or large shrubs up to 7 m tall in the genus Laburnum native to Central and Southern Europe.
They have yellow pea-flowers in pendulous racemes in spring, which makes them very popular garden trees. In Laburnum Anagyroides the racemes are 10–20 cm (4–8 in) long, with densely packed flowers. The leaves are trifoliate, somewhat like a clover, the leaflets typically 2–3 cm (¾–1¼ in) long. All parts of the plant are poisonous and can be lethal if consumed. The heart-wood of a laburnum may be used as a substitute for ebony or rosewood, very hard and a dark chocolate brown, with a butter-yellow sapwood.
