Product Description

Czar Plum Tree 4-5ft Self Fertile, Ready to Fruit, Good For Cooking or Eating

These are BARE ROOTED plants which can be planted from the end of October until April and will be dispatched as soon as the weather turns cold and they become dormant. The dispatch date depends on the Autumn temperature and varies from year to year.

Culinary plum, also very suitable for dessert purposes when fully ripe. A reliable cropper, resistant to frost.

A reliable self fertile plum tree.It is the most recommended tree to use in less than ideals environments as it is frost resistant.Growth is upright. Czar plums are naturally excellent for making jams and preserves; by using a little less sugar, you can create a really intense jam. Czar is fully self-fertile and crops reliably, aided by its comparatively hardy nature, in the face of frost.

As with all trees from the prunus family, the leaves will start to appear autumnal and slightly shabby from mid June on wards. This is not a disease, but is mainly due to this years contrasting weather conditions and will not affect the performance of the tree.

    A good looking plum tree

Posted by Vian Roberts on 3rd Nov 2021

The tree looks fine and has been planted according to your instructions. However I can't give a final verdict until next Spring and that is why I have retained one star. Contact me in Spring 2022 and I hope I will be able to add the extra star. As your records will show I had a quince tree from you last year. This looks very healthy (5 stars), produced many flowers but no fruit. Perhaps I'm too impatient or perhaps the bees aren't doing their job.
