Product Description
Gages are superior dessert plums, much sweeter with a rich honeyed flavour when grown in a warm sunny spot. It can be kept in a pot inside or outside and will crop best in a sunny spot.You will be able to produce a lot of fruit from a small space with this small tree.
Partially sell fertile but crops at its best with the pollinators: Victoria, Czar or Opal. 'Cambridge Gage' is a popular variety, similar to the traditional 'Old Green Gage', with a very fine flavour.
Single, cup-shaped white flowers appear in late spring, followed by yellow-green fruit with a superb, juicy flavour, which are ready for picking in early September.
As with all trees from the prunus family, the leaves will start to appear autumnal and slightly shabby from mid June onwards. This is not a disease, but is mainly due to this years contrasting weather conditions and will not affect the performance of the tree.
