These are BARE ROOTED plants which can be planted from the end of October until April and will be dispatched as soon as the weather turns cold and they become dormant.The dispatch date depends on the Autumn temperature and varies from year to year.
A cross between Golden Delicious and Jonathan. They form a large sweet fruit with a thin skin. Because of their large size they are now favoured by commercial growers in many parts of the world.
Jonagold is triploid, and as such requires a second type of apple for pollen and is incapable of providing pollen for other trees.It has light green apple with red tinges.The apples are juicy with a sweet honey flavour.The tree will tolerate most soil types, but prefers full sunlight.It is one of the most reliable and heavy croppers.The apples make very good juice!
Pollination:
It is a triploid variety and needs two pollinators of different varieties and able to cross-pollinate each other as well as the Jonagold.
