Medlar 'Nottingham' / Mespilus germanica 'Nottingham' 4-5ft

Self-fertile

 

These are BARE ROOTED plants which can be planted from October until April and will be dispatched as soon as the weather turns cold and they become dormant.The dispatch date depends on the Autumn temperature and varies from year to year.

 

Notable for the strange look to its fruit, Medlar Nottingham is the only variety still available commercially. This is due its well sized fruit and reliable year on year cropping.

 

Nottingham Medlars will grow well in any well drained soil and will fruit best in full sun. They are hardy but the flowers can be damaged by strong, dry winds and we recommend choosing a sheltered location

    Medlar "Nottingham" ordered 06/01/2021 Shipped 07/01/2021 Received 09/01/2021 Planted 10/01/2021 The medlar was well wrapped with a good root ball and about 4 feet tall. It was planted with a coating of mycorrhizal fungus and the website planting instructions followed. I was impressed.

    I have been hugely impressed by the quality of the trees and plants that I have purchased. They are extremely good value and are of the best quality that I have seen in a long time. I have already recommended Beechwood trees to my friends and really can not praise them highly enough. I have bought medlar trees before from other suppliers they cost considerably more and were no where near the quality and size of these ones.
