Product Description

Cox's Orange Pippin Apple Tree / Malus Domestica, 3-4ft in a 6L Pot

Widely known and loved cultivar of apple, renowned as a dessert apple. With a cropping period lasting from October to March.

The flavour and texture of the variety changes from complex acidic and crunchy in early September to more mellow and softer after storage. The trees grow to a height of 12 to 15 feet. They require rich soil, moderate watering, good drainage and full sun. When planting, space trees according to their ultimate size. To prevent corrective pruning later on, frequent light pruning during the tree's early years is required. It is recommended to prune mature trees to allow new growth and to permit sunlight to reach into the tree to discourage mildew. They will crop in two years with full crop achieved at 5-6 years.

Pollination:

It is not self-fertile and needs a pollination partner:

Beauty of Bath, Braeburn, Cornish Aromatic, Discovery, Egremont Russet, Elstar, Gala, Golden Delicious, Granny Smith, Greensleeves, Grenadier, Idared, James Grieve, Katy, Lord Lambourne, Malus Evereste, Malus John Downie, Pitmaston Pine Apple, Red Devil, Spartan, Worcester Pearmain

Never been disappointed yet. Exceptional company and my ‘go to’ place for trees/hedging/perennials etc. Always quality and delivery and packaging second to none. Highly recommended.
