European Spindle Tree / Euonymus Europaeus

4-5ft Tall in a 6L Pot

 

Leaves are green in Summer and in the Autumn 4 lobed dark red fruits with orange seeds appear.Max height & spread 10ft/3m.Grow in any fertile soil especially chalk.Great for a native hedge or wood.

 

Also known as 'Spindle' or 'Spindleberry' (as the wood was used to make these essential items) this shrub brightens up the hedgerows in the countryside around me in SE UK in the autumn with its shocking pink berries that split to reveal the bright orange seeds inside.

    The tree looks healthy enough but its a bit too early to say. I was amazed at how quickly it arrived. Its been repotted and is in situ so fingers crossed it will grow nicely.

    I have not seen the tree as I had it sent to my sister-in-law for her bib birthday. She has said it arrived in very good condition and that she is very pleased with it. I would have liked the opportunity to have sent her a message with the tree. I could not find anywhere to do this on your web site. Perhaps you could think about including this in the future.

    Our tree arrived very quickly. The packing was excellent, well protected with straw in a sturdy cardboard box , so no plastic! The tree was in excellent condition with green leaves in a pot and unlke so many other plants /shtrubs /trees it was not at all pot bound! We have planted it in our garden and the tree's leaves have opened and it looks very healthy! Here's hoping it does well. Would definitely buy from this company again!

    Nice strong looking plant, well packed and delivered very promptly. Rather modest in its appearance at the moment; looking forward to it's flowering and particularly autumn behaviour next year! Just the right size for its place and it will really add some joy to a dismal autumnal corner!
