Product Description
Wild Honeysuckle / Lonicera Periclymenum in 9cm Pot
Honeysuckle climbs with thin, twisted, woody stems. Oval leaves are arranged in pairs along the stem, dark green above and paler beneath. Flowers are long tubes with petals that curl open at the tip to expose the stigma and stamens. They are creamy white or pale yellow, often tinged pink and are arranged in a circle at the tip of the shoot. Fruits are small clusters of red berries.
Native species, useful for covering vertical surfaces. Important for night-flying moths, which are its main pollinators. Hummingbird Hawkmoth and long-tongued bumblebees visit by day. Berries are taken by Robin, Blackbird, Song Thrush and Blackcaps.
