Product Description

Quince Tree 'Champion' 4-5ft Tall, Ready to Fruit.Make Tasty Pies & Jelly

These are BARE ROOTED plants which can be planted from the end of October until April and will be dispatched as soon as the weather turns cold and they become dormant. The dispatch date depends on the Autumn temperature and varies from year to year.

This variety has bumper crops of large oblong pale green/yellow fruits with an excellent flavour. Champion is good choice for most gardens. The Fruit is ideal for pie fillings and jellies. Self-fertile.

The quince as well as being a productive fruit tree is a attractive ornamental tree. It has a crooked trunk and branches and bears ovate dark green leaves with grey undersides which turn yellow in autumn. Attractive bowl-shaped pale pink to white flowers are borne in late spring.Grow in fertile, moist but well-drained soil in full sun.

    Bare rooted Quince Tree

Posted by John Williams on 8th Jan 2021

Speedy delivery via courier. Healthy and strong looking sapling. Soaked root ball for 24 hours before planting in my orchard with lots of organic matter in the planting hole. Look forward to seeing new growth in Spring.

    Very impressive quince tree

Posted by Vian Roberts on 13th Dec 2020

So far so good. Very impressive speed of delivery and a very impressive tree generally (very well packaged). Plenty of roots and branches, giving ample opportunity to train the tree to desired shape. Pruned branches gave every indication of a very healthy tree. The final test will of course be how well the tree looks in the Spring, though it's possible it may not be too happy with the torrential rain experienced since planting. A final point - the advice given on the website re. how best to implement planting was excellent.

    Huge quince bareroot tree

Posted by guy mansford on 26th Nov 2020

Arrived very well packaged with plenty of warning of arrival. Hard to unwrap but means well protected. Huge root system and well branching top growth with strong graft. Incredible value for money as always with Beechwood nursery.

    Wait and See!!

Posted by Jonathan Wrigley on 31st Oct 2020

Ordering/Delivery/Packaging was fine, although clingfilm/gaffer tape possibly not the easiest to remove. Website instructions good. I cannot really express satisfaction until next year when the currently dormant tree hopefully produces a bumper crop of fruit and I can award the final star to my rating.

    quince tree

The ordering process was simple and I was kept updated on its status. Delivery was straightforward and it arrived on time. The amount of plastic packaging was a bit over the top - it would have been better if recyclable packaging had been used. Can't wait to see how it does next year.
