Product Description

20 Bird Cherry / Prunus Padus Plants 40-60cm Bare-Rooted

2yr old  plants

These are BARE ROOTED plants which can be planted from the end of October until April and will be dispatched as soon as the weather turns cold and they become dormant. The dispatch date depends on the Autumn temperature and varies from year to year.

Bird Cherry is a native wild tree producing beautiful fragrant blossom in spring followed by black fruits in autumn. These are loved by birds.

A change from the traditional blousy cherry, the bird cherry is a more unusual choice for the large garden. Dark purple shoots appear in spring followed by coppery-purple foliage that gradually fades to green with age. The dark foliage is the perfect foil for the delicate pale-pink flowers, which are held in elongated clusters. These are followed later in the year by black fruits which birds adore.

The plants have been grown in the nursery for 2 years(1+1) and will have an excellent root system ready for planting.
