Product Description

Big Juicy Victoria Plum Tree 4-5ft Tall, Ready to Fruit,Self Fertile & Juicy

These are BARE ROOTED plants which can be planted from the end of October until April and will be dispatched as soon as the weather turns cold and they become dormant. The dispatch date depends on the Autumn temperature and varies from year to year.

One of the most well known and popular of plum trees, Victoria produces pale red fruit.

Victoria is a versatile plum tree, producing fruit which can be eaten, used for cooking and for jams.It produces a heavy crop which often needs to be thinned if fruits are to be produced each year. Left to its own devices the sheer weight of fruit may well break the branches of the tree.Harvest between Mid-August to late September. If you are growing only one fruit tree, then this is the one to plant. It is self fertile and will pollinate with any other variety of plum.

As with all trees from the prunus family, the leaves will start to appear autumnal and slightly shabby with holes from mid June on wards. This is not a disease nor caused by insects, but is mainly due to this years contrasting weather conditions and will not affect the performance of the tree.

Trees are grown on St Julien A rootstock which will grow to 10-12ft max.

Pollination:

It is self-fertile and will produce fruit by itself.

For better fruiting plant a compatible partner:

Cambridge Gage, Czar, Merryweather, Mirabelle de Nancy, Opal, Oullins Golden Gage

Arrive quickly and very well wrapped. Roots look healthy and I've planted out. Roll on next year to see how it grows.

A good specimen, which was very well wrapped and protected during delivery and was in excellent condition when unrapped although slightly on the small side of the 4ft/5ft advertised.

    A HEALTHY LOOKING TREE

Posted by Adrienne on 22nd Oct 2019

The delivery guy said he had been wondering what was in the package and he guessed "golf club". He laughed when I said it was a Victoria Plum tree. It was very snuggly wrapped so do take care when releasing it from packaging... but it was in really super condition. I soaked it in a bucket of water overnight and planted it firmly with a good compost mix. I have high hopes that it will sprout leaves and hopefully blossom in 2020.

Delivered promptly and in good condition, difficult to unwrap though, but otherwise very nice!
