The most reliable fig for the UK climate which, from late August to mid-September, produces a heavy crop of purple-brown fruits with sweet red flesh.
 
 
Figs are native trees of Syria and Persia, and have been grown in Britain since Roman times. Only a few varieties are hardy enough for outdoor cultivation on warm walls, where they survive most winters unscathed - very hard prolonged frosts may kill all the top growth, but plants revive from below ground.

    Excellently packaged and arrived with figs on

    The tree arrived well watered, with the pot wrapped in cling film to ensure to retain moist soil in the pot and the roots undisturbed. The pot was secured into the box so that it could not move so the branches did not sustain damage being bumped about, it was also padded with straw against bumping and frost damage. The delivery was free to the Scottish islands where most other suppliers quoted me £14! The tree seems healthy, it had figs on when it arrived, and it's in my tunnel to settle and I keep my fingers crossed :-) Thank you Beechwood Nurseries, you have restored my faith in buying plants/small trees online :-)

    The fig tree (complete with its first crop of figs) arrived promptly and was a very healthy specimen. The product was well packaged and did not come to any harm after its journey from N Ireland despite the courier leaving it on its side in a designated safe place. It is now planted in a pot on our patio and we are looking forward to the first harvest.

    Hi This tree was rather heavily pruned, but was very tenderly packed in straw and healthy in a moist pot when it arrived. It has since put out leaves and hopefully will fruit in the near future. Many thanks indeed.
