This lovely tree, formerly called 'Coccinea Plena' or 'Kermesiana Plena', is a sport of 'Rosea Flore Pleno', the double pink hawthorn, and one of the finest for spring and autumn display.

 

It is a garden form of the Midland hawthorn, a familiar woodland shrub or tree occasionally found in hedgerows, and flowering a week or so earlier than other hawthorns. The trees are laden with double red blooms in May, while the early autumn display of deep red berries is almost equally lavish.

    I have ordered from you a number of times before and have always been delighted with both the purchase and your service and this is no exception. it is a really fabulous tree, multi-stemmed, which for me, adds interest, and although we are just out of May, the traditional flowering time, this one has a new flush of flowers. Really excellent

    The tree arrived in perfect condition, very well packed. It is an exceptional tree and I am sure will be magnificent as it grows. I can't wait for it to show flowers, hopefully next spring. There are a number of the scarlet hawthorn trees in my village, now we have one more! Thank you very much for the safe delivery of the scarlet hawthorn. Stephanie

    The tree arrived in excellent condition - far bigger than I had expected. It was packed very well. The root system was perfect - the only problem was my ground was far too wet to start digging holes and planting (after a very cold, wet winter and loads of rain. So I potted it on and will place the pot where I hope to eventually plant it. I am extremely delighted with my purchase - loads of buds too so a lot of anticipation! Thank you Beechwood trees
