The hardy deciduous Ninebark shrub Physocarpus Opulifolius Red Baron has rich crimson stems and vibrant deep red foliage. It is a hardy shrub that grows well in almost any type of soil and adds ruby hues to a garden or balcony from spring through late October. The dark red stems of the cultivar Physocarpus Red Baron are adorned with three lobed, rich crimson leaves. Early summer brings bright clusters of tiny white-pink blossoms that develop into round red fruits that birds adore. Its crimson foliage fades in the winter, exposing peeling brown bark in a variety of hues. This versatile shrub adds earth hues of deep red and brown to borders and containers in the spring and autumn.
